What is Together?
Together was formed as an initiative of the Council of Trade Unions Te Kauae Kaimahi(CTU) to provide New Zealanders who don't belong to a trade union with the chance to be part of an organisation that supports worker rights. It also provides individual workers with much-needed support in their day-to-day jobs.
Membership is available to all workers who are not in a unionised workplace, including contractors and part-time workers as well as full-time employees. You can stay a Together member even if you change jobs or stop working.
Membership costs just $1 per week. Benefits include an 0800 helpline to access expert advice on workplace issues, disputes, health & safety, workplace bullying, employment agreements - just about any issue that can cause problems in your job. As a Together member you will be invited to attend union meetings and events organised by affiliate unions, including rallies and celebrations.
For workers who are already part of a union affiliated to the CTU, Together offers the chance for family members to join and receive coverage at their workplaces for a very reasonable membership fee. Find out more.
Part of the CTU family
Together works in partnership with the CTU to see that employees get a fair deal at work throughout New Zealand.

A proud tradition of standing up for workers
Many of the improvements in working conditions that people take for granted today were won as the result of union initiatives. Unions have been standing up for the rights of employees since 1821.
