Funding options preferred for individual facilities

Joint funding preferred for most

When respondents are given different funding options, the majority suggest joint funding by all councils for 12 of the 15 facilities (see table below and chart overleaf).

For North Harbour Stadium, the majority prefer funding by the North Shore City Council. For Ericsson Stadium and the Auckland Theatre Company, opinion is mixed between joint regional funding and local body funding.

Between 10 and 25 per cent of Aucklanders prefer funding by a single regional organisation for these facilities.

Note - 'Don't Knows' and 'Others' are omitted from the base from which the figures are calculated, to make the results comparable to previous years. In general, around five per cent of respondents suggested other funding types for each facility, and between two and ten per cent didn't know.
