Tell the government to put wisdom before profit

Steven Joyce plans to change the law so that private tertiary companies will get the same funding as public universities, wānanga and polytechnics.

Education is a public good, not a corporate product. Send a submission to the ministry."

To the Ministry of Education,

I am submitting my opposition to clause 8 of the Education (Tertiary Education and Other Matters) Amendment Bill 2016.

I believe that the minister and future tertiary education ministers should retain the ability to give higher rates of funding to publicly-owned tertiary institutions.
Universities, wānanga and polytechnics are not the same as private for-profit providers.
They have a legal duty to teach New Zealanders of all backgrounds, to protect academic freedom, and to strengthen our country with strong research.

Yours sincerely,

Will you sign?
