We, the undersigned, are calling on your government to save workers lives by implementing a full ban on the import, supply and use of engineered stone.

Processing engineered stone is extremely harmful to health. International evidence shows that working with engineered stone significantly increases the risk of contracting the deadly disease silicosis. Silicosis is not curable, but it is preventable.

Engineered stone is not an essential building product and many safe alternatives exist. We should not be putting workers’ lives at risk.

Eliminating this hazardous material will stop workers from being exposed to deadly engineered stone dust.

The Government has the power to do the right thing and save lives. You need to act now.
