Calling for a Living Wage at the 2020 Election

The Living Wage Movement will hold election events this year calling on candidates to commit:

  1. That further to implementation for the Living Wage for directly employed workers and contracted staff in the core public service, you will support and promote the Living Wage to be implemented for all those employed in the wider state sector during the 2020-2023 parliamentary term.
  2. That you support and promote extending the requirements to pay a Living Wage to all Crown agencies.
  3. That you advance these commitments as a priority component of any coalition agreement you may be part of negotiating post the election 2020.
  4. That you support and promote the new Government developing an ongoing relationship with Living Wage Movement Aotearoa/New Zealand through an Advisory Group in order to oversee implementation of the commitments to a Living Wage.
