Thanks for signing. Will you share your story?

We need real stories to show why FPAs matter.

We are looking for people who want to share what Fair Pay Agreements means to them. This might be in the media (TV, radio or newspapers) or for social media stories. We’d love to hear from everyone and we’re particularly keen to hear from people who work in the industries where FPAs are currently underway. Will you help us out?

Please share what FPAs means to you below, or leave your details so we can get in touch.

Keep bargaining until the government of New Zealand realise all employees are struggling – keep up the good work!!!

I’m a retired working bus driver. I will turn 69 next birthday. The oldest bus driver in our company will turn 83 next birthday. Living on a pension does not cut it in todays cost of living which is why we have several bus drivers who are retired working into their late 60s & early 70s. The cost of living is a REAL! challenge.

I work to enjoy a decent life of survival with a roof over my head, if I did not work I would not be able to afford the basic joys of life such as eating well, living in a comfortable rented unit, run & maintain my car & the expenses that come with it to get me to work, shopping & pay several insurances such as life & funeral insurances

Just as important, the signing of the Fair Pay Agreement is not only for me & my current union & non union working colleagues but! also for the generation of employees to follow in my/our footsteps.

I would like receive double time for working on Christmas Day and all other public hols. I would like to receive the same rate as others in our industry.I do not want our ability to bargain taken away.We should send a very strong message that if that happens, expect push back.

Just means we are valued as workers especially when we have worked through times off needs such as covid…we could have been home safe with our families but instead we were fighting to save families so surely these companies can value us and give back 💙 ❤️

The physical toll that my job takes affects my whole wellbeing. Our pay definitely does not reflect this. Without us all working in these industries, society just wouldn’t function well enough to create a positive future for generations to come.

Living costs are so high right now so keeping our fair pay agreements are vital to those of us on low paid wages. I’ve worked at the Warehouse for 17years and with the billions this company has made during this time and a Ceo that gets paid millions of dollars a year please lets tell this Government we are against their getting rid of FPA’s.

This company has refused to give us a decent living wage and has the cheek to plead poverty. I say to our members lets stand together and make our voices be heard.

Everyone no matter what work they do deserves to earn a fair living wage.

Example a retail worker works just as hard if not harder then a CEO of a company and Everyone should be appreciated and paid to show that!!!

I work at Kmart Palmerston North, the fair pay agreement my Union was able to bargain for has allowed me to earn a living wage. These negotiations took many months due to the unwillingness of my employer to give its employees, my coworkers, a dignified wage. The work and organising of workers from other stores in our industry are what allowed our union to have the leverage to negotiate my current rate. If fair pay agreements were to be revoked by the National Party, I have zero faith in my employer to continue to attempt have our wages keep up with the cost of living. I don’t know why Christopher Luxon wants people to be not able to bargain for fair, living wages. Why does Christopher Luxon not want regular NZers, the majority of the nation, to be able to live? I strongly support this petition, and oppose national’s intentions to overrule this law.
