We are looking for people who want to share what Fair Pay Agreements means to them. This might be in the media (TV, radio or newspapers) or for social media stories. We’d love to hear from everyone and we’re particularly keen to hear from people who work in the industries where FPAs are currently underway. Will you help us out?

Glenys Harwood commented 2023-12-05 19:16:16 +1300As a grandmother raising 2 special needs mokopuna, budget is tight but only part time hours fit around their appointments. Part time and/or flexible tend to be minimum wage, I have very little time to rest therefore every dollar earned has to stretch as far as possible. The prev govt min wage increases make huge difference.

Pete Beswick commented 2023-12-05 18:53:29 +1300Fair = fair, flexibility = exploitation.

Robert Howie commented 2023-12-05 14:53:30 +1300Cancelling FPA is just another attack on the welfare of working people. The policies being put out by this govt are despicable! It is time for us to fight back against this fascist govt and let them know we won’t tolerate their distinctive policies! ( destructive )

Lawrence Kara commented 2023-12-05 09:13:57 +1300Fare pay should be naturally expected an taught in schools along side the 1948 human rights declaration. Your intrinsic value to societies growth is an absolute necessity. To think government can decide that a politicians contribution Is worth more than a cleaner midwife nurse or truck driver,Is astonishing considering the recent public performance by our elected officials.Ironically one of their first decisions is their own pay increase,While legislating the demise of the working class men and women.Criminal

Cost of living crisis…..pay us our worth! -
Raeleen Brunel commented 2023-12-04 22:01:45 +1300As a school bus driver I am fortunate that my employment pays the Living wage $26 per hr. Other drivers with other companies are paid considerably less than that. We have patiently sat back and watched our urban colleagues get $28 & $30 per hr, while we drive identical buses. We don’t have protection of security cameras, subjected to abuse, clean up after food fights, try & control vaping etc. We are the legacy of PTOM & the FPA was our only hope of pay parity with our urban colleagues, but our patience is running out. Our employer pays us as much as they can under the MOE contract and striking for pay means our employer is subject to penalties for not fulfilling the contracts. Importing drivers will not work the part time hours. We pinned our hopes or recognition & pay parity on a FPA. Seriously pissed off.

Hare George commented 2023-12-04 17:36:25 +1300With the cost of living so incredibly high we are struggling to make ends meet let alone have the prices of food, petrol and rent continue to go up. We need change
-
Shane Pasene commented 2023-12-04 08:53:59 +1300Fair Pay agreements are very important for vulnerable workers. We need this legislation to strengthen the rights of people who work in industries where terms and conditions are the bare minimum. By having an FPA in industries such as Cleaning, Security, Early Childcare, Hospitality, Retail, Bus and others we raise up not only the standards for workers but also level the competition to make industries fair for all.
