We are looking for people who want to share what Fair Pay Agreements means to them. This might be in the media (TV, radio or newspapers) or for social media stories. We’d love to hear from everyone and we’re particularly keen to hear from people who work in the industries where FPAs are currently underway. Will you help us out?

Please share what FPAs means to you below, or leave your details so we can get in touch.

We work have , work with violent clients, do 24 hour shifts and only get minimum wage from 10 pm to 6-30 am. We are still at work! We do not get public holidays!! We take care of there personal cares. Take care of there mental state of mind , administer there medication. Take them to there appointment ie haircut , doctors, hospital etc We do there house work there laundry , Cook there meals , we do more for them than for our own families! We work in a very busy and sometimes stressful environment. We are there life! We should be respected for this by the government Would the priminister like to swap jobs for the a day just too see the passion and effort we put into our careers, if he does Xmas day would be great

I believe in a fair society. FPA goes some way to achievig this, . We need fair pay for all workers to show what they do is appreciated and we are not exploiting them.

Although my sector – tertiary education – has been chronically underfunded for just over a decade, its been our inability to have our salaries kept up with inflation that’s really difficult. All sectors need to have the means to collectively bargain for fair pay rates and conditions, but the reality is that if we lose our ability to collectively bargain at a national level, then ordinary people will progressively earn less and less as inflation increases. It used to be in this country that if you were a nurse, a teacher, a police officer, a mechanic, a librarian, etc etc then you could earn enough to feed yourself and have a mortgage. Those things are impossible now – and it’s going to be worse if we can’t collectively bargain to get a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work. This mantra of ‘let the market decide’ always decides to put people before profit – and what I want, is for people to come first.

Have worked in customer service industry (retail, hospitality, tourism, NGO, Council) for 10+ years and seen how important these agreements are for roles of all kinds and how they impact individual wellbeing. Happy to talk more. Email: [email protected] Number: 021 212 7941

Nurses have been negotiating for fair pay since long before I retired as a nurse, nearly 10 years ago. A lot of progress has been made towards achieving this, so this is a big slap in the face to all the hard working nurses. I haven’t forgotten National’s “Mother of all Budgets”when Ruth Richatdson was Minister of Finance. The budget cut benefits of the poorest in societyto get through a financial crisis This was the start of Food Banks which have grown to huge proportions today because of the poverty it exacerbated.

If we want wages to be like Australia it is madness to get rid of fair pay agreements. The coalitions aim is to keep the majority of us as poor as possible while criticizing the so called brain drain.

When I first started my employment, I was paid less than my peers and was told to take it or leave it. It was a real struggle for my family and me to get ahead

Social and economic justice requires fair pay agreements. They are agreements not impositions by one partner

Fair pay agreements mean our essential workers can rely on decent minimum terms and conditions — and we all benefit when workers can rely on fair pay and working conditions

The ability to bargain collectively is an absolute human right, and a cornerstone of democracy. Don’t let’s them take your rights and freedoms away. Ar-a-mach!!!!
